Post production 1: More editing & starting social media page
After positioning the sourced clips and clips that I shot together, I started to edit properly by adding transitions and an already given default background music track called ‘hope’ from the iMovie app. I added this track throughout the documentary as a subtle background music. Something that took me a long time and was challenging for me is that I had to fit everything within five minutes, and I had to figure out how to add voiceovers over clips and make it seem smooth as it transitioned from voiceovers to the actual clip of Shruti talking. I was almost done editing, and I had to figure out how to add in the credits and the title card now. To showcase the title nicely, I wanted to use Canva Pro to design a nice title card with good fonts and colors. For this to happen, I reached out to another friend of mine, Mihika, who has access to Canva Pro and is extremely experienced with designing and art, both online and offline. We scheduled a call the day after to decide on a certain font and style. To post and share behind the scenes and the process of making the documentary, I started a social media page on instagram by the name of ‘behindtheseamsfilm’.
Here is how the account looks so far:
